As one of the 20 major projects of Ningxia's "14th Five-Year Plan", Guoneng Ningdong 2 million-kilowatt photovoltaic base covers an area of about 60000 mu, with a total investment of nearly 10 billion yuan. With excellent product performance, Huansheng Photovoltaic won the bid for several bid sections of the project, providing it with 1.2GW high-efficiency stacking components.

Long yellow sand transformed into "energy oasis"

Ningxia has high altitude, long sunshine time, high radiation intensity and good atmospheric transparency. It is one of the regions with the richest solar energy resources in China, and has unique resource endowment in the development and utilization of solar energy.

Guoneng Ningdong 2 million kW photovoltaic base is located in Meihuajing mining area of Ningdong energy and chemical industry base, about 80 kilometers away from Yinchuan, Ningxia. It uses land resources such as coal preparation area, mined-out area, subsidence area and barren hills and slopes to build photovoltaic power stations according to local conditions.

At this time, the barren and lonely land in the past has been put on a dark blue "coat" and has become an important green energy base for "power transmission from west to east. After being connected to the grid and put into operation, it is expected to deliver 3.7 billion kilowatt-hours of green electricity to Zhejiang and other places every year, reducing carbon emissions by 3.1 million tons, which will play an important role and far-reaching impact on promoting the transformation of energy structure, improving the quality of ecological environment, and promoting the coordinated development of the eastern and western regions.

Photovoltaic power generation paints a new desert ecology

Ecological restoration is the premise of green development. In desert areas, photovoltaic modules can play a role in blocking sunlight, thereby slowing down the evaporation of water, coupled with the irrigation of water flow when washing photovoltaic panels, is conducive to plant growth, effective wind and sand fixation.

The project adopts the integrated development model of "photovoltaic ecological management" in the coal mining subsidence area, and improves the land protection rate and vegetation growth rate in the area through "on-board power generation, under-board planting, sand control and soil improvement, and comprehensive utilization of water resources". Effectively help the improvement of the ecological environment and the management of desertified land in the mining area. The yellow land, green vegetation, and dark blue photovoltaic panels merge with each other here to form a community. The vast desert is no longer lifeless, and a brand-new green picture is slowly unfolding.

Efficient shingling for better solutions

Considering the complex terrain of the mining area, two different power G12 high-efficiency shingle double-glass components, 550W and 660W respectively, are used in the project, which still maintain stable power generation performance under various terrain such as subsidence, gully and mountain, highlighting its excellent multi-scene application advantages.

The geological structure of the photovoltaic project construction site in the coal mining subsidence area is unstable, which not only increases the exploration, design and construction costs, but also increases the later operation and maintenance costs of the power station. The high power and low open-circuit voltage advantages of the ring-shingle component can greatly improve the capacity of a single string of components, reduce the amount of support, pile foundation and cable, reasonable size design also makes transportation, installation more convenient, effectively reduce investment costs. In addition, the reliability of anti-cracking and anti-shadow occlusion brought by the stacking technology also makes the operation of the power station safer in the whole life cycle.

The grid-connected operation of large-scale ground photovoltaic power plants with base and scale is of great significance for China to achieve the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutrality.
